Men in Black 3 continues the story of K and J, our favorite G-Men.? While, I don't think these movies are technically a trilogy, I mean, there are three of them, there isn't some story arc that transcends all three.? And I'm OK with that.? I'd rather they be episodic.
Josh Brolin as Agent K in 1969 is great.? Filling the shoes of Tommy Lee Jones is no small feat and he is believable in his role as a younger K.
My only complaint about the movie is that it was a bit long in places.? I found myself thinking, OK we get it, can you get on with it please, in a few of the action sequences.? Also, Emma Thompson and her character were vastly underused. ? And...it would have been nice to spend a little more time in 1969 because that's when the story really got moving and interesting.? Up until then, it was sort of like the other two movies, which were good, but we've seen them.? Bring us something new!
Overall, I enjoyed the movie.? There is one alien that I truly enjoy who has a box of Cracker Jacks and the way they worked in some of the historical events of that year to the plot were good.?
Not to spoil it for those who are purists: (In other words you might want to stop reading here) The reason I liked the alien was because he was in inter-dimensional being who could see all possible futures. It was funny how the writers incorporated this into the time travel plot, which can be a sticky thing to do. One little thing can set us on a different path.
Before I go, let me just say this (if I haven't said it before) I rue the day that Burt Reynolds put those hilarious outtakes in the end credit sequence.? It's like an encore at a concert.? Just play a whole set and let us out.? I don't need this fake out.? Your time is up.? Thanks for the memories. So Hollywood, please cut that out!
